PowerColor HD4830 512MB GDDR3 |
2008/10 |
“The two cards PowerColor and Sapphire-based GPU ATI Radeon HD 4830 analyzed in these pages are equipped with the same specifications of operating the reference board, so there are no differences by in the performance. Both cards have reduced noise operation, but with a slight edge in this regard for Powercolor. PowerColor is also preferable for higher flexibility in terms of connections, integrating directly on the board HDMI connector instead of the Sapphire solution which can only delivery HDMI with a bundled dongle.”

" With their version of the 4830 PowerColor have gone for the no frills approach as far as bundle is concerned and we receive no extra cables or connectors. To be fair, we need less on this card as it has DVI, VGA and HDMI built on. There will however be many Consumers who require two DVIs and for those users we would prefer to see a HDMI to DVI dongle but it should be noted that we are very much in favour of onboard HDMI as it provides a tidier solution for those connecting to a HDTV. Performance wise the PowerColor is no slouch. "

“We are looking to a excellent proposal where the price performance relation is one of the best we’d seen lately. For 75€ you take home a graphic card very fast that manage to run the most heavy games and with a image quality unmatched in high definition. Besides being very silent it has little power consumption that makes a great candidate for media PC. If you were looking for a graphic card cheap and with great performance don’t look any more: PowerColor HD4670 PCS is the card you’re looking for.”

“The launch of ATI HD4830 brings a great challenge for NV9800GT, it means there will have a price war in this segment. AMD start to fight back aggressively ….NV has lost their advantage in almost every segment. ”

“Very cool and quiet HD4850 of PowerColor came soft overclocked here. It can easily beat HD4850 Toxic, one of the most agressive model from Sapphire. Not really like its friends on shelf but we recommend you push the card to get this performance easily. ”

"What is about PowerColor product, has better performance in this segment with good price and original design, the results of its tests will be devoted only to their brand, while the results of Palit cards you can see in previous articles, which devoted to Gainward as well. Just change "Golden sample" for "Sonic" and the word "Gainward" for "Palit" and you will get the same picture..."

PowerColor PCS+ HD4850 512MB GDDR3 |
2008/10 |
“Once again, a decent aftermarket cooler has allowed the unassuming 4850 to overclock like an absolute beast, and the Powercolor Radeon HD 4850 PCS+ was perfectly stable with a core clock over eighteen percent higher than a stock clocked 4850. Whilst every GPU is slightly different, the Zerotherm GX810 certainly seems up to the task of cooling even a well-overclocked 4850, and all whilst running extremely quietly too. For those after a 4850 that won't burn your fingers or break your bank balance and which still delivers outstanding overclocking performance, the Powercolor Radeon HD 4850 PCS+ is a excellent option.”
